The Rotary Club of Titsey & District - Events

The Club raises many thousands of pounds each year, all of which is donated to either local charities, local branches of national charities, national charities or Rotary International charities such as Polio Plus.

Over the past 5 years, over 1700 walkers have raised over £50,000 on our MoonRaker NightWalk Challenge. This event is run to support specific charities such as the 1st Hurst Green Scouts Hut Appeal and Help for Heroes, as well as topping up our own charity funds.

You will see us at Oxted Carnival, Hurst Green Fair, running tombola stalls and even taking part in the Oxted Pram Race to raise money for good causes.

We facilitate local Oxted charities raising money through financing and promoting a local Christmas Draw so that all participating charities retain money for all the tickets they sell, then boosting the amount each of them raise from our own funds.

Various ongoing projects include support for local youth in the Oxted area . In addition, we support the personal development of mature teenagers by sponsoring someone to attend a week's youth leadership course under the auspices of Rotary International, known as RYLA, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. We also help KidsOut, a charity established by Rotary International and Littlewoods to help disadvantaged children up to the age of 18 throughout the UK.

However, not all Club events are to do with fund raising. We hold regular leisure activities, Sunday walks, brewery and vineyard visits, days out at the races and sporting events all of which are great fun. Twice a month we hold meetings where we enjoy fellowship and entertainment from a wide variety of guest speakers.
