Your day at Titsey

The Rotary Club of Titsey and District is proud to announce its summer solstice garden party and to invite you to participate in this event. In so doing, you will help us to make this a worthwhile event to the benefit of the participating charities.

This is a unique opportunity to experience an entertaining and social occasion at Titsey Place, a magnificent old country estate on the Surrey/Kent border. The gates will open at 12.00pm and the event will end by about 7.00pm. During that time, guests will be able to stroll around the lawns and gardens, the Victorian kitchen garden and the lake.

Titsey House and beyond

Light musical entertainment will be provided throughout the afternoon and there will be a number of entertaining artistes as well as a selection of garden games and entertainment.

The rose garden has been allocated as a picnicking area, offering a unique and colourful setting that will enhance your enjoyment.

The Rose Garden

There will be an Exhibitors Hall in which the major charities will be demonstrating their good work and David Shepherd will provide a gallery of his own paintings and prints as well as talks and audio-visual displays on his work abroad.

Teas will also be available at the exhibition centre for those that wish to take in the wonderful scenery whilst supping a herbal brew.

The main Food Hall will feature celebrity chef, Simon Boyle, who will be offering demonstrations of some summer recipes.

In addition to local beer, wine and soft drinks will be available, along with some entertaining wine tasting hosted by Tim Atkin, wine correspondent for the Observer.

As an Early Booking Bonus, a limited number of house tours will be available and, during the tour, visitors will be able to view David Shepherd's portrait of the late Leveson Gower brothers, Thomas and Richard, now on display in the drawing room of Titsey House. Indeed, this is a unique opportunity to see not only this painter and his painting together, but also a set of four paintings of Venice by Canaletto.

The event will close with an auction featuring a celebrity auctioneer and star attraction - a print donated by David Shepherd. There will also be an opportunity to purchase prints, books, cards and other gifts.

So - book early to ensure your place at this unique event
